Mary Rutan Hospital to open new clinic

URBANA CITIZEN - The Mary Rutan Hospital Urbana Clinic will open May 11 with six new providers in the community. The clinic’s focus will be on adult primary care, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology.

“Over the past year, Mary Rutan Hospital has worked hard to recruit the right providers,” said Tom Denbow, vice president of Physician Integration at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine. “Both our new and established providers understand our commitment to the health of the Champaign County community and we are pleased to help members of the community establish a relationship with a provider through the opening of our new clinic.”

The Urbana location will offer many services including:

  • Treatment of minor illness and injuries
  • Diagnosis and treatment of adult and pediatric conditions
  • Flu shots and other immunizations
  • General medical evaluations and wellness exams for newborns, children and adults
  • Sports and occupational physicals
  • Comprehensive obstetric services
  • Annual wellness and gynecology exams

Mary Rutan Hospital’s decision to open a location in Urbana was based on the significant increase in visits seen from the Champaign County community to their Bellefontaine locations. Increases have been seen in the emergency department, general surgery, inpatient and outpatient services, and at all physician locations in the Bellefontaine area.

“We are very excited to bring these health care services to the community,” said Laura Miller, vice president of Marketing at Mary Rutan Hospital. “Mary Rutan Hospital continues to evaluate the increasing needs of our patients from the Champaign County area and expand our services so residents do not have to travel far to receive Mary Rutan Hospital’s high-quality care.”

Located at 848 Scioto St., the new clinic will initially be open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Appointments for all providers can be made by calling 937-887-0164.

Mary Rutan Hospital is a full-service, community hospital in Bellefontaine. In addition to hospital-based services, Mary Rutan Hospital operates offsite facilities for imaging, therapy, audiology, laboratory and eight physician practices.
